Professor Stephanie Pitts is Director of the Sheffield Performer and Audience Research Centre (SPARC), currently running a 30 month AHRC project on ‘Understanding audiences for the contemporary arts’. Her research interests range across music education and the social psychology of music, and she is the author of books including Chances and Choices: Investigating the Impact of Music Education (OUP, 2012) and Coughing and Clapping (eds. Burland & Pitts: Ashgate, 2014), an edited collection of essays on audience research methods.
Stephanie is excited to be involved in the network as a way of sharing methods and challenges across a wide range of audience settings, and gaining international perspectives on working with arts organisations.
